Questions and answers
What does this measure?
The days between the date a plugin was created in OpenAI’s developer dashboard and the hour it first appeared in the ChatGPT plugin directory. Every third-party plugin ID starts with its creation time, and we check the directory every hour.
Is this the same as OpenAI’s review time?
No. Most teams build and test for a while before they submit, so the review itself is shorter than these numbers. OpenAI doesn’t publish submission dates or guarantee a review time, and its plugin team has put the wait at about two weeks when submissions run high.
Can I speed up OpenAI’s review?
OpenAI doesn’t expedite reviews. What saves time is avoiding a rejection and a second wait: a test account reviewers can sign in to, test cases that work as written, and tool annotations that match what each tool does.
Why are some plugins left out?
When the directory adds 50 or more plugins in one hour, it is listing older plugins in bulk, not finishing reviews. 702 plugins arrived that way (Oct 20, 2026, Oct 14, 2026, Oct 8, 2026, Oct 6, 2026), so they don’t count here.
How often is this page updated?
Every Monday, with every plugin listed up to the end of Sunday (UTC).
